Postal Competition Inaugural Results

Hi All 2025 and 2026 ASRA members

The inaugural postal competition results are attached.
Remember the year end prizes are: a random draw based on number of times you entered and a second section for the most improved.

ASRA postal competition

The following are the guidelines for a new competition for Alberta shooters. It is designed for all levels of competitors.
Please pass on to other Alberta shooters who aren’t currently a member of ASRA.
We look forward to your registration and participation.
Please contact Wynn Payne (wynn.paynegmail.com) with any questions.

All participants must be ASRA members before shooting their score
There are 4 categories
Air rifle
.22 rifle prone
Supported air
Supported .22.

Supported means any type of support. (.22 prone with a sling is defined as supported.)
Matches are 30 shots. If someone is shooting a 60 shot match the respective scores are to use the first 30 shots and then the second 30 as separate totals, using whichever is better as their score to submit.
Scoring will be whole numbers ie not decimal
Air rifle is 10m on an ISSF target
.22 is at any distance, as long as the target is scaled proportionately to Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) standards.
Unsupported .22 can be a sporting rifle target properly scaled to the distance shot. Match rifle is an ISSF target and sporting rifle a sporting rifle target
The scores must be calculated and verified by someone at the location of the shooting prior to submission.
Athletes will submit their one best score for the month on or before the 3rd of the following month. ie an entry arriving on the 3rd of the following month is not eligible.
Submissions to wynn.payne@gmail.com labeled SCORES
Scores will be charted and the results posted shortly after.

Three sets of prizes will be awarded after the end of the season (April 30 2026).
Firstly, a random draw from the total score submissions (someone can enter more than one category) This prize is for two people to each win $50. (The donation of this prize is in memory of, Mr. Gordon Herbert Dahl.)
The second is a prize of $25, for each category, for the most improved from Nov to April. Exact ties will split the amounts. (Prize donated by Billi Jo McIlroy)
The third set of prizes is for ASRA medals for the best total cumulative score of any 4 of the monthly submissions in a particular category. (six potential months to choose from)
There is no entry fee.
