2017 Shooting Federation of Canada Rifle Results

Once again the 2017 National Matches encompassed both Rifle and Pistol disciplines and was held on the range built for the 2015 Pan-Am Games; and most events were fired on electronic targets. Sporting Rifle was electronic for the first time ever; Hunting Rifle was fired on paper targets (most shooters use scope sights and the electronic targets have no center aiming point for cross-hairs). In the Pistol matches Standard Pistol and Center-Fire Pistol were electronic after being on paper targets last year.

The weather for the match was generally excellent, though about half-way through it got “interesting” with a few showers and thunderstorms. It didn’t cause any problems on the range that I know of. And the day after the Rifle matches finished (Pistol matches were still being fired) it turned cool.

We thank all the shooters who competed this year. And we thank all the officials who operated the match and managed to cope when things didn’t go as well as they might. It is their dedication that makes matches like this possible.

2017 Indoor Rifle Match

The Calgary Rifle and Pistol Club is pleased to invite you to our series of indoor Rifle matches starting in January 2017. The intent of these matches is to provide an opportunity for smallbore rifle shooters to participate in regularly scheduled competitions. The entry fees have been kept to an absolute minimum and therefore, there will be no prizes other than bragging rights.

The course of fire will be 2 X 60 shot matches fired from the prone position at 25m. The first match will be 60 shots with Iron Sights, and the second match will be 60 shots with Any Sights, meaning scopes may be used, or you may stick with iron sights – your choice.

  • Iron Sights start at 9:00 a.m. sharp, with Any Sights match starting at 10:30 a.m.
  • Time limit of 1 hour, 15 minutes per match, for three targets.
  • 2 shots per scoring bull (20 shots per target), unlimited sighting shots.
  • ISSF/SFC rules apply.
  • Competitor scoring to be used – please bring scoring towers etc.
  • These are not SFC registered matches. Scores to be posted at CRPC and ASRA website.
  • Match Rifle, Sporting Rifle or Hunting Rifle may be used.
  • Cost is $10.00 for CRPC members for the two matches (please bring exact change).
  • Non-CRPC members to pay $20.00 fee to cover insurance (please bring exact change).
  • Recommended that you are a 2017 ASRA member – please support Smallbore Rifle in Alberta.
  • Please note that Empty Chamber Indicators (ECI) are required – Weed Eater line works well. This is both a CRPC as well as an ISSF rule. Call me for more info, if required.

Although these are prone matches, we will accommodate anyone wishing to shoot 3-Position

PLEAE NOTE: As range space is limited to one relay, we would ask that you call or email to reserve a spot as we anticipate a good turnout this season.

Match dates are: Jan. 7, Feb. 4, Mar. 4, Apr. 1
