ISSF published via ISSF website, preliminary new rules on 12 Dec 2016 .There are some changes from the draft. Due to international backlash, the air rifle rules are still unofficial. Yet another meeting will take place: the rule re 140 mm butt stock depth may well be dropped entirely. Date TBA.  At present, all wooden stock rifles have been exempted and excluded. The rule in question as been temporarily numbered ISSF RULE 7.4.2.4

If a metal stocked rifle can not be altered or modified the above rule will be ignored and the rifle accepted as is until further notice.

All the other new rifle rules and the 24 shot Final will be in use at the Air Prov.:

Fore end depth now 120mm

No longer a butt plate lower extension limit.

Lateral butt plate displacement now 30m.

Weights location limited.

Optic lenses in rear sight.

Two 5 shot series at beginning of Final , 250 second time for each.

It is the responsibility of the athletes and coaches to know the rules beforehand
